A recycling company has dramatically increased its efficiency during the loading of deliveries thanks to a new bespoke dock leveller from Thorworld Industries.
Thorworld’s standard dock levellers are 2m wide x 2.5m long and have a load-bearing capacity of 6,000 kg – but the company’s design engineers knew that this wouldn’t withstand the potential high capacity of between 8.5 and 9 tonne for a fully loaded forklift truck required by the client for its loading operations.
As a result, they designed a heavy duty 10,000 kg capacity model. This has been installed within a pit at the front of the building, thus allowing loading to take place quickly and efficiently without affecting traffic into and out of the yard.
The dock leveller itself is manufactured from high tensile steel and features an anti-slip finish to allow it to be used in all weathers. Furthermore, a hydraulic pump and motor ensure it is easy to use.
